#WeekNotes Ep.1 2020

What a welcome to the beginning of a new decade it has been! After making sure that I took some real time off during the festive break (including a social media de-tox) I felt ready and raring to go on Monday. The space that I gave myself and the long walks with the family really gave me the opportunity to see the horizon and start to dream bigger.

At the end of 2019, I was beginning to think about the digital skills gap that we see in the charity sector, and about how I might be able to impact change. This year continued on this theme with a renewed enthusiasm to make that difference, and do my bit to help others make the real change in the world. I know that for any impact to be made I must create something that truly solves a problem. To do that, I must first frame that problem and begin to really understand it from the multiple perspectives within the sector. With this in mind, the first task of the first working week of this new decade was to create a survey that starts this journey of discovery.

Will you join me on this journey?

So I can understand the barriers to ‘digital maturity’ in the charity sector, I really must hear the voices of as many people connected to the sector as possible. If you are a volunteer, trustee, fundraiser, work on the front line, or in the communications team, I want to hear from you. Your voice should be heard whether you feel that ‘digital’ is your responsibility or not. Please take the time to complete this 5 minutes survey and once you’re done, share it with someone you know.

It wasn’t just surveys…

This week also saw the kick off meeting for a project I have been very excited about starting for some time. A coaching project to help a charity in the discover phase of a new CRM and CMS (Customer Relationship Management Platform and Website) alongside the brilliant Zoe Amar. As well as this project kicking off, I managed to stick to my new year’s promise of continuing to build my strength and resilience – taking my dig for regular walks, allowing myself meaningful breaks, and making it to not just one but two pilates classes ?

Until next week x
